In most of our conversations, we’re hearing that there is some kind of system in place, but it’s not adequate. Ranging from Excel, Sharepoint, point solutions or older deployments of other technologies, we’ve been hearing over and over “it’s difficult to keep up,” “everyone manages their information in their own ways,” and “we really struggle to pull everything together for the reports we want.”
About Onspring Team
Onspring delivers cloud-based, mobile-friendly solutions for governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and business operations. We empower business users to innovate and solve problems for themselves.
For those of us who live in the GRC consulting world, birthday milestones are a bit like project milestones. Some are big events. Some are barely noticed. Some are cause for celebration. Others are simply a jumping-off point for the next big thing.
How does a financial services company launch an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program with a department of just a few? The Onspring team had the opportunity to work with an organization to help build their ERM program from the ground up. Now, with multiple years of data to review, the company has discovered tangible benefits, wide sweeping perception improvements and actionable data to facilitate change in the right direction.
On a daily basis, I work hand-in-hand (or phone-to-phone) with clients to guide them through implementing their Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) processes using platform-based software. Having been involved in the implementation of dozens of GRC processes in a number of different industries, I can tell you the one thing they have in common: they’re all different.
One of the key ways I’m facilitating Connect this year is through the training classes on Monday and Tuesday. We’re offering two training programs, so our Administrators (from newbies to seasoned vets) will have a value-packed experience in the training room.
Today, Onspring announced the latest addition to its highly flexible software solutions – Onspring Cognition®. Since 2013, Onspring has provided leading solutions in Audit, Risk and Compliance with a simple mindset – tailoring and changing how they work should be as easy as online shopping.
I’m not a developer or a mathematician. My background is in professional writing. But since my exposure to Onspring, I now create formulas regularly to auto-calculate data points and kick off actions in the system. (Believe me, I’m as surprised as you are!)
If you grew up in the 80s, you probably have fond memories of your trusty mixtapes—a collection of favorite songs on a well-worn cassette that you listened to over…and over…and over again. We’re a long way from mixtapes in 2015, but the concept holds true: sometimes the good stuff just gets better with age. As the year draws to a close, the Onspring team would like to offer our own mixtape of sorts: a collection of our favorite blog posts from 2015. We invite you to sit back, “press play” and enjoy these stories again (…and again…and again).
It’s officially proposal season here at Onspring, and the requests for proposals (RFPs) are starting to stack up. I’ve learned a lot about business proposals, having my hand in hundreds over the years. When you produce a few proposals a year as opposed to a few a day, it’s easy to adopt some common misconceptions about your potential client or partner. While you are likely to spend countless hours crafting the perfect response, your recipient will not and cannot spend the same amount of time considering and appreciating it. Here are some helpful strategies I’ve picked up over the years that can get you on the right track.
At Onspring, we “eat our own dog food.” We run almost every business function through our own platform, including product management, marketing, QA and customer support. By using our own product daily and approaching it through the lens of a client, we have a great opportunity to develop new ideas and consider improvements to the user experience. Just like our clients, we encounter plenty of opportunities to enhance a process or automate a function through the Onspring platform.
Vendor Management can sometimes feel like trying to catch Niagara Falls in a mop bucket. With a varying pool of relationship owners, shifting scopes and changing relationship terms, the vendor manager has a daunting task to stay on top of due diligence, identify third parties that need to be replaced and measure success among vastly different providers. Many of our clients have found success with our Vendor Management solution by applying different layers of review, each with a specific timeline and focus to help assemble a comprehensive look at the vendor. Think of it like a cake.
My career path has been much less varied and significantly less “flashy” than my husband’s, but I recently got to wave my own figurative wand and wow a few clients with Onspring’s auto-create feature. Just call me the David Copperfield of enterprise software.
