The Onspring Admin Audit History report—this report logs every configuration change made in the system. When finishing a project or you need to count up the hours spent administering a site, pull up this report, set the filters based on the user account and date range (if any). Once the filters are set, you can export the data to Excel.
Spreadsheets are valuable tools, and we often work with teams that are transitioning from Excel or providing legacy data in spreadsheets. They are important and have their place in your organization. But are they meeting all your needs?
While the concept of reporting seems to be pretty straightforward, the term “report” can have a variety of meanings, so I’m always careful to validate my understanding so I don’t veer off in some unwanted direction. After all, reporting capabilities often represents the organization’s A-1 deal breaker requirement.
There is little to be gained by playing this guessing game, outside of additional stress and scrutiny which are already plentiful enough in our lives. But there is good news. Sometimes the byproduct of pain and inefficiency and drudgery is the realization that there must be a better way to do this. And the good news is that there is most certainly a better way. Advancement and improvement, whether monumental or incremental, is always within our reach. As long as we are willing to accept that something is broken, it becomes infinitely easier to fix.
Gantt charts. You love them or you hate them. Or you love to hate them. Whatever your sentiment toward this mainstay of the project management world, there’s no denying that Gantt charts can be an incredibly useful tool for visualizing project resources and activities over time. That is…IF they are easy to create and modify and IF they are accurate. Otherwise, they’re not worth the paper (or screen space) they’re written on.

For the most part, technology has changed our lives for the better. Technology in business definitely makes our jobs easier, reduces costs and allows many of us to provide products and services we never thought possible. All that being said, it’s still fun to think about the past and reminisce about the “old days” in life and business. The way things have changed can almost always be traced back to some type of technology. I’m not talking about dinosaur days or the old west, but how quickly things have changed over the last 25 years or so.
Dashboards are the front door to your solution. They are your greeter, your concierge and your window dressing.
